Since the start of his professional career and the
humble beginnings of the instruments that bear his
name, Master Luthier and
SPECTOR®
founder Stuart Spector has built a reputation for
the highest quality instruments and outstanding customer
care. He's done this the old-fashioned way by
building a loyal customer following one instrument at a time.
Stuart Spector Designs, LTD. is a modest
company composed of a select handful of dedicated craftsmen who
under Stuart's leadership strive to build musical
instruments which embody the "U3"
concept.

Our business philosophy is simple; we feel that
success or failure has less to do with numbers on
spreadsheets and has everything to do with what the
musicians who choose to purchase and play our
instruments feel regarding how we do our job. |

And ultimately it is that musician's choice of which
instrument to own and play that is the prime
motivator for dedication to the
U3
standard we've created for ourselves.
We KNOW that there
are always other options, other companies, other
instruments; but we feel compelled to continue our
quest to refine and build the best instruments any
musician could hope to play.
We do this
because as musicians ourselves; we understand the
personal and very important bond that each musician
forms with their instrument. Through our own
journey to find "the one" bass or guitar that makes
us feel like we're home from a long journey every
time we pick it up; we are honored and proud when

SERIES NS-5XL™ |
Neck-Thru
NS-5XL™ with Exotic Water-Cured Redwood
Burl Top. This was the first limited-run
Special-Edition USA Series™ bass. Instead of
being a series of basses that were made exactly the
same, you could choose to have any
USA Series™
bass topped and finished in this rare wood.
Made from a log of Redwood which had been submerged
in a stream for over 100 years, the wood had been
"water-cured". Creating a near-holographic
effect in the wood grain and providing a rich-warm
tone, the only log of this felled Redwood tree was
purchased by Stuart and some 20 guitars have been
made from it in the past decade.
No more of
this beautiful wood is available and because of the
unique circumstances of its creation none will
likely ever be available again! |
