SIGNATURE ARTIST
 JASON NEWSTED
Like some mythical Norse God of War, Jason powered his way through the music scene and into the bright spotlight of superstardom as the thunder-making bassist for the legendary Metal Group, Metallica.  A ferocious player with mad-crazy technical skills, Jason often played a black Brooklyn NS-2™ previously owned by Ozzy Ozborne bassist and SPECTOR® Artist Phil Soussan.

Stuart developed a very unique and slightly more streamlined version of the SD-4P™ and SD-5P™ basses for Jason to tour with. 

Jason's Signature JN-4™ and JN-5™ basses are some of our most sought-after collectable basses.  They are also some of the most rare from the SSD Era with less than 10 total having been manufactured.

Once more the body was reshaped.

The horns became thicker than on the NS-94/95™ models but did not take on the fully rounded profile of the original NS-Bass™. 

This shape would be used for our flat-body import guitars many more times.

Currently, only the SpectorCore Piezo™ model uses this body shape.

We call it the NS-2000™ Body Shape.
