A Friendship That Would Forever Change Music's History
Ned Steinberger was about to be unemployed when a young Stuart Spector came to the woodshop where Ned was working to look at purchasing its equipment.  Ned was a furniture builder and cabinet maker and the idea of making musical instruments was intriguing to him. Stuart invited him to join his little Brooklyn co-op and Ned accepted.

From that chance meeting came one of the most celebrated musical instrument designs in modern history, the
NS-Bass™.  A couple of years later, Ned would deconstruct the modern electric bass and design the Award-Winning Steinberger Bass™.  Stuart and Ned's meeting resulted in two designs which would forever change the way instrument makers and musicians would look at the electric bass and guitar.

THE FIRST SPECTOR®
The first instrument ever built by Stuart Spector surprisingly wasn't a bass guitar or a banjo.

Since Stuart was a guitar player who could not afford the electric guitar he wanted, he built one!

It was completed and used by Stuart. He eventually took it apart and it sat in the corner of his office for years until passed on to his business partner, PJ Rubal.  PJ has a large collection of rare
SPECTOR® instruments.
