""Sometimes big things get their start from the most humble beginnings."
From the moment that musicians first were introduced to the revolutionary design and unique sound of the SPECTOR NS-Bass® in 1977, the guitars and basses designed by Stuart Spector and his small band of talented craftsmen have set the standard for quality, comfort, playability and that distinctive tonal quality best described as "THE SPECTOR® TONE".

It has been an interesting journey for
SPECTOR®; from producing hand-made instruments in a woodshop co-op to becoming a division of one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the world, that company's unexpected financial collapse and Stuart Spector's fight to regain the rights to his own name in the aftermath, and finally the success and growth that comes from decades of dedication to the art and craft of designing and building the finest instruments possible.
