Notes from NAMM - 2006 - Anaheim, CA
|
GUITARS! BASSES! FUN in the SUN!
Hard to believe it's been a year since we were in beautiful Anaheim California for the annual Musical Instrument Extravaganza that is NAMM. For those of you that don't know, NAMM is the biggest Music Instrument trade show in the US, and is where manufacturers from around the world come to show off their latest and greatest. It's an "industry only" show, meaning it's not open to the public, so we try to give you a sense of what it's like to be there.
To experience it for yourself, just stand on your feet for four days, while playing multiple radios on different stations at once at loud volumes, while talking fast and loud to 20 people at once all day. Oh, and don't forget to stay up too late going to the great shows all around, and paying too much for day-old sandwichs. Yes, it's a glamerous event, and we love it. We especially appreciate all the players and independant music instrument dealers that stop by and support us, as they have for the last 30 years. So enjoy these little snapshots from our trip to Southern California.
After that, be sure to see all the new basses in every series!

Holding the Spector Guitar is Dave Pearl, from the band Drist, who are featured on the new PS/2 game "Guitar Hero". With him are John Tam, producer of the Guitar Hero game and Corey Fong, brand manager of the game. A couple of us got to play the game, and it was cool! It was great to meet these guys.
