"We think of our instruments as being made for the
working professional; so looking at things in this light
nothing could be more important to us than building solid,
long-lasting relationships with the very people we make our
instruments for." |

Brooklyn Era NS-2
Circa 1987 in New York |
From the earliest days of
SPECTOR® back in Brooklyn,
NY in the mid-1970's, Stuart Spector recognized that
his guitars were meant to be played on the stage and
in the studio by those who would dedicate themselves to living the difficult life of the
professional musician.
Fast-forward a decade to the mid-1980's, a young
and enthusiastic bassist by the name of PJ Rubal
discovers an amazing sounding bass guitar hand-made
in Brooklyn by a guy named Spector. He saves his
money so he can purchase his first
SPECTOR®, a
black
NS-2 with an ebony fingerboard. It would
become PJ's favorite bass, one that over 25 years
later he still owns and plays.
It was
PJ's instant love of this "amazing" sounding and
playing bass guitar that prompted him to seek Stuart
Spector out and learn more about how such a
wonderful instrument came to be.
A
lasting friendship developed and through time, PJ
started working with Stuart to help expand the
company's reach by actively engaging studio and
touring musicians from all musical backgrounds. |

As
with any profession, your tools and the quality in
which they are made, the way in which they help you
accomplish the task at hand; can made the difference
between work which is enjoyable and pressure-free
and work which is a nightmare to undertake.
Our Artist Relations Department is all about
working with you so that you have the best tools in
the industry to accomplish your professional "work". |
 |
Besides our belief that the quality of our
instruments will help you accomplish your goals
through their well-documented durability and their
legendary sound; we want you to understand that
we're not about pushing product or the next wiz-bang
thing to come down the "trend of the month" pipe.
We are about building solid, long-lasting
relationships built on mutual appreciation, trust,
and professional integrity.
We feel that the main reason so many artists
choose to play
SPECTOR®
bass and/or electric guitars is because we
put the needs of our artists first.
